Burke is also active with foundation work including vet-hack, Leary Firefighter Foundation, FDNY Foundation, FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation, Lt. Joseph DiBernardo Foundation for Fire Fighter Survival. Burke holds a second degree black belt in Matsubayashi, Shorin-ryu Okinawa karate.
