Eddie Steeples always wanted to become an actor. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Houston, Texas as the eldest of eight children. After graduating from high school in 1992, he moved to Santa Cruz, California, where he studied theatre and later studied with the St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre, and briefly at Howard University, before moving to New York City.
