Peter John Farrellyย (born December 17, 1956) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and novelist. Along with his brotherย Bobby, theย Farrelly brothersย are best known for directing and producing quirky andย romantic comedyย filmsย such asย Dumb and Dumber,ย Shallow Hal,ย Me, Myself and Irene,ย There’s Something About Mary, andย the 2007 remake ofย The Heartbreak Kid.

Farrelly solo-directed and co-wrote the comedy-dramaย Green Bookย (2018), which won the Audience Award at theย Toronto International Film Festivalย in 2018,ย theย Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay, and theย Academy Awardsย forย Best Pictureย andย Best Original Screenplay.
