Jarin Blaschke
Jarin Blaschkeย (born September 28, 1978) is an Americanย cinematographer best known for his work with directorย Robert Eggers. For his work on the psychological horror filmย The Lighthouse, he earned a nomination for theย Academy Award for Best Cinematography.
When he was 16, Blaschke moved to New York City to study film at theย School of Visual Arts.
Blaschke first rose to prominence with his work onย Robert Eggers’ directorial debut, The Witch. His work received acclaim, in addition to several Film Critic Association nominations, including theย Seattle Film Critics Society Award for Best Cinematography.ย He would reteam with Eggers forย The Lighthouse, which was filmed in black and white negative.ย In addition to his Academy Award nomination, Blaschke won theย Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography and was nominated for theย BAFTAย andย Critics’ Choice Award.
Blaschke currently lives inย England.
