Robbie Brennerย is an American film executive, a partner atย The Firmย and the president of its film division. As President of Mattel Films, she leads the strategy for developing and producing movies based on Mattel’s brands and IP. In 2023, Brenner producedย Barbie, directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig, which grossed over $1.4 billion and set numerous global box office records.

Brenner worked atย Miramax Filmsย for nine years. While at Miramax, she worked on numerous films, includingย Serendipity, starringย John Cusackย andย Kate Beckinsale. In 2004, Brenner produced the filmย Haven, aย Cayman Islandsย crime drama featuringย Orlando Bloom,ย Bill Paxton, andย Zoe Saldana. Brenner went on to work atย Twentieth Century Foxย as senior vice president of production in 2005 and 2006. After her time there, she was withย Davis Entertainmentย and produced the science fiction filmย Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Previously as an independent producer, Brenner earned a 2013 Oscar nomination forย Dallas Buyers Club.ย This film won three 3 Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Supporting Actor for Jared Leto.

Before her work at Mattel Films, Brenner served as President of Production at Relativity. While there, she helped manage the studio’s acquisition of the Sundance documentaryย Catfish. She also led productions of movies such asย Immortals, Safe Haven, Mirror, Mirror, Out of the Furnace,ย andย The Fighter, amongst others.

Brenner appeared at No. 96 inย The Hollywood Reporter’sย “Women in Entertainment 2012: Power 100.

Brenner is a film alumnus of the New York University of the Arts and an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Executive Branch member.
